How the What You Don’t Talk About Challenge Works

1. What this is

A 30-day reflection series for Movember, men’s health month. Each day is one prompt about something people hold in: not talking, anger as the only allowed feeling, friendships that faded, carrying everything alone, going numb. It was written for Movember and it works for anyone who holds it in.

There is no prize drawing, no sweepstakes, and no purchase required to read it. The work is the reward.

2. The web series

  • No signup, no account, no email. Open it and read.
  • All 30 days are public at ilty.co/challenge/what-you-dont-talk-about/day/1 through day 30.
  • Read in order, jump around, read ahead or catch up. There is no completion gate and no date gate.
  • The reflection is yours to do however you like: on paper, in a notes app, or in the ILTY app.

3. The in-app challenge

The ILTY app, on iPhone and Android, runs its own version of the same challenge, one track with the same name, with a companion who talks you through each prompt and remembers what you said.

  • The join window is November 1 to November 30, 2026. Join any day in that window.
  • Your 30 days start the day you join, at your own pace. Missed days stay open.
  • You have 60 days from joining to finish. Day 30 then shows you what you said, side by side.
  • The in-app challenge is part of the ILTY subscription and starts with a 7-day free trial. There is no free entry to the in-app version. The web series above is free.

4. Privacy

The web series does not ask you to sign in or submit anything. There is no account and nothing you write on these pages is collected or stored by us. For the app, see the Privacy Policy and the Research Policy.

5. Not medical advice

The challenge is a reflection program, not a substitute for professional mental health care, and not a crisis service. If you are in crisis: in the US, call or text 988 (988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline); in Canada, call or text 9-8-8 (9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline); anywhere else, Find a Helpline lists the free, confidential line for your country.

6. A note on the name of the month

November is Movember, the men’s health month run by the Movember charity. It is not an official mental health awareness month; in the US, Men’s Health Month is June. We describe it as Movember or men’s health month on purpose.
