Meditations that sound like someone you know
Seven guided sessions, all under five minutes. You choose which of the five companions narrates, and one of them is not soothing at all.
Why this exists
Most guided meditation has one voice: soft, slow, faintly reverent, the same register across every app in the category. It works for a lot of people. For everyone else it is the exact tone that makes them close the app.
The other problem is length. The category standard is ten to twenty minutes, and the most common reason people quit in the first week is that they never had twenty quiet minutes to give it.
How it works
You pick the narrator. Every meditation is recorded separately in all five companion voices, not pitch-shifted from one take, so choosing Mr. Relentless genuinely changes what you hear and how it is delivered.
The sessions are short on purpose. Between 2:56 and 4:47, which is a length people finish.
Some of them are not calming, and that is the point. A Stoic evening review takes you through the day like a fair judge rather than a prosecutor. Memento mori is what it sounds like. The no-excuses reset is narrated by a tough-love coach and tells you the excuse is well-crafted and works like a cage.
Everything is bundled with the app, so it plays with no connection, and mindful minutes can be written to Apple Health if you want them there.
What you actually get

Physiological Sigh Reset, Wind Down, Breath Awareness, Short Body Scan, Stoic Evening Review, Memento Mori, No-Excuses Reset.
5 narrators, each separately recorded
Mindful Guide, Stoic Advisor, Mr. Relentless, The Architect and Ember. Every meditation exists in every voice; you pick in the player's sound settings.

English, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French and Estonian, each recorded rather than subtitled.
Offline, and counts toward mindful minutes
Audio is bundled with the app. Sessions can write mindful minutes to Apple Health, and show up in your practice insights alongside everything else.
What it isn’t
- Seven meditations is not a library. Insight Timer has thousands of free ones and Calm has hundreds; if breadth is what you want, we say so plainly on our own roundup and rank ourselves sixth there.
- There is no free tier. If you only want meditation and price is the constraint, Medito and Plum Village are free forever and genuinely good.
- This is not a sleep-content app. Wind Down helps at the end of a day; there are no eight-hour soundscapes or celebrity sleep stories.

Frequently asked
Can I choose who narrates the meditation?
Yes, and it is the main reason this exists. All five companions recorded every meditation separately, so the same session guided by Mindful Guide and by Mr. Relentless are genuinely different experiences. You switch narrator in the player's sound settings.
How long are the meditations?
Between 2:56 and 4:47. Short deliberately: most people who abandon meditation apps in the first week do it because a twenty-minute default never fit into the day.
Do the meditations work offline?
Yes. The audio ships with the app rather than streaming, so every session plays with no connection.
Is there a tough-love meditation?
There is. No-Excuses Reset is narrated by Mr. Relentless in a low, controlled register, and Memento Mori is the Stoic Advisor. Neither is trying to soothe you. As far as we know nothing else in the category ships anything like them.
